Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V to fold for new spring series

It was announced at Jump Festa on Saturday that a sixth Yu-Gi-Oh! series will begin in spring. So, as you would expect, the current Arc-V will wrap up its run by then and, sticking to tradition, Yuya Sakaki will hand off to a new hero.

The event revealed the above design for the new protagonist, whose name is Yusaku Fujiki. While a title, cast and staff are yet to be announced, the theme of the new series is “One step forward, let’s try!” Yusaku hates standing out, especially at school, but through meeting and challenging other duelists he starts to take steps forward.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V premiered in Japan in April 2014, and Crunchyroll started streaming the series worldwide outside of Asia in November. The latest anime movie, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions, opened in Japan in April and is being screened overseas from next year. In the US and Canada the film will open on January 29th, with UK cinemas following suit from February 1st.
