This prequel trilogy adapts Takahiro and BUNBUN’s illustrated novel series Washio Sumi wa Yuusha de Aru (Washio Sumi is a Hero), and is set two years prior to the main storyline. The Hero Chapter follows as a direct sequel to the 2014 TV anime, continuing the main story from where it left off.
