Event: Get a skating education from Yuri!!! on ICE choreographer and voice actors

Kenji Miyamoto, the fabulous figure-skating choreographer who stepped out the dances of Yuri!!! on ICE, will be teaching fans about the sport at an upcoming event. Alongside three-time Grand Prix Final medal-winning skater Akiko Suzuki, he will host Yuri!!! on ICE ~Figure Skate o 100-Bai Tanoshimu Shuchu Kogi~, featuring footage from the anime to transform us all into ice dancing aces.

The event will also welcome the anime’s concept creator Mitsuro Kubo, as well as voice actors from the show to share their experiences on the animated ice. Toshiyuki Toyonaga (voice of Yuri Katsuki), Yutaro Honjo (Guang-Hong Ji) and Shun’ichi Toki (Leo de la Iglesia) will all be present with Kubo at the first session. As for the second, Kubo, Toyonaga and his rival-turned-reluctant comrade Koki Uchiyama (a.k.a. Yuri Plisetsky) will be the guests of honour.

Both sessions of the event will take place at Nakano Sun Plaza in Nakano, Tokyo on March 3rd. Tickets went on sale last week for 4,500 yen (US$40) but as you can expect there has been high demand. To make it up to any fans who can’t make it to the actual event, there will also be livestreams taking place in 48 cinemas across Japan. We just wish we could get to Japan in the first place, as it looks set to be a wonderful experience.
