Over the weekend, our sunshine girls from Aqours gathered for their first ever live at Yokohama Arena. It turned out to be a celebration in more ways than one. At the end of the Sunday concert for Aqours 1st LoveLive! ～Step! ZERO to ONE～, their Next Step project announcements revealed that the Love Live! Sunshine!! anime will return for a second season in fall 2017.
Aqours next tour was also announced, the Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours 2nd Love Live! Happy Party Train Tour set to begin at Nagoya’s Nippon Gaishi Hall on August 5th and 6th. The concerts will continue on to Kobe’s World Memorial Hall on August 19th and 20th, and end up in Saitama’s Seibu Prince Dome for September 29th and 30th. In addition to these two major announcements, there will also be a new theme song CD, a second wave of mini-unit CDs for CYaRon!, Azalea, and Guilty Kiss, and finally a Duo/Trio Collection CD. Lottery forms for the upcoming concerts’ priority tickets will be bundled with volumes five, six and seven of the anime on Blu-ray.
The seaside spin-off from Love Live! was first announced in February 2015, and keeps with the fan participation theme of the original project, which let viewers vote on the fate of the idols. The new group’s name Aqours was voted for by fans, chosen from the submitted ideas of Dengeki G’s Magazine readers. The anime premiered worldwide last July, and FUNimation, Crunchyroll and Daisuki streamed the series outside of Japan.
