Atlus USA put the word out that they will release Shin Megami Tensei V for Nintendo Switch in the west. No further details are available for the moment, but you can take a look at the new announcement trailer for America and Europe.

The initial reveal that Atlus was developing a game for the Switch came from Nintendo in January this year. The fifth installment in the game franchise is also being developed as part of Shin Megami Tensei’s 25th anniversary, using Unreal Engine 4.

An entire project based around the anniversary celebration includes a Nintendo 3DS remake of the Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey game for the classic DS console. This game, titled Strange Journey Redux, was released in Japan in October, but it’s also coming to North America in 2018. After the Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue side-scroller was revealed to be “fake”, Atlus released a free PC download which will remain available until December 24th.

Elisabeth O'Neill

Hmm, not as far as I can tell. Apparently Megami Tensei is based on a sci-fi novel series called Digital Devil Story, and FF is just it’s own thing.
