Yoichi Takahashi’s original soccer-centric manga was launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1981, and is still being printed to this very day. After making the switch to Grand Jump magazine, it’s known as Captain Tsubasa: Rising Sun, and its legendary run has been adapted into several anime series and films.
This new anime comes fifteen years after its most recent predecessor, Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002. The series will take it right back to the beginning of Tsubasa’s story, so fans old and new can live, or relive, the captain’s road to glory. Are you Tsubasa fans, or just excited to see what it’s all about?
