Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress - Unato Decisive Battle

The Kabaneri train ain’t stopping. So says Fuji TV in their announcement that Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress is getting an all-new anime film, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: Unato Decisive Battle. According to director Tetsuro Araki, that’s a sequel, not a spin-off, so we will be seeing what happens after the series’ end.

Set six months after the original anime produced by Attack on Titan’s WIT Studio, the official website for the film lists it as the “middle volume”. No clues as to what that entails, and no further details either, but there is a teaser so we can appreciate how beautiful the series was, and continues to be.

In other news from behind fortress walls, DMM Games are creating a game titled Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress -Revolt- Beginning Tracks. There’s a trailer out for this new part of the story too, announcing that the game will arrive for PC and mobile devices this summer. Best go and get our zombie-killing katanas sharpened.

Now, this is truly exciting. I still think that the series finale is quite unfinished. Hoping to see a detailed story from the film and an even action-packed animation from this train wreck.

Ah, I love Kabaeneri and I don’t care what negative things people don’t like about it! I hate that its compared to AoT. I get it, it came from the same studio and also carries a post-apocolyptic world with monsters, but it’s still different. I’m excited!

Okay, I have to watch the series first. I finally have access to it through Amazon but I just haven’t gotten around to watching it. Will have to move up my priority list.
