Almost in the same breath as revealing the new Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress movie, Fuji TV have announced the original anime Carol & Tuesday from Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe. The studio BONES series is set to premiere on Fuji TV’s new anime timeslot +Ultra in April 2019, and you can catch a teaser below.
The tagline in the video reads, “The two met and created a song. No one knew what a miracle it would bring”. And this series is already feeling extra special. For one, auditions are open worldwide for the two main characters, Carol and Tuesday, on the anime’s official website until April 25th. So anyone with a good grasp of Japanese and a web connection could be voicing these characters, and performing the songs they will sing.
Further staff announcements have Eisaku Kubonouchi of Chocolat and those Hungry Days cup noodle ads on character design. Aya Watanabe joins the team as scriptwriter, and Flying Dog of Aria, KanColle and more are producing the music.
It’s worth noting that the anime’s worldwide broadcast is “under consideration” for now. But the world won’t want to miss a thing from the BONES/Watanabe duo that brought us Cowboy Bebop: The Movie and Space Dandy, so hopefully we’ll all get to see this beautiful concept come to fruition.
