Anime based on Junji Ito’s Uzumaki to air on Toonami

Are you a fan of Junji Ito who found themselves left cold (and not in a good way) by the Junji Ito Collection anime series? Then your turn might just be coming around. The horror manga master’s series Uzumaki is being made into a new mini-series premiering in 2020.

This series is born of a partnership between Cartoon Network’s anime slot Toonami (ever mourned in the UK) and studio Production I.G. In the original manga, a scourge of unusual events all linked by spirals slowly pushes a town into paranoid madness. After seeing this seriously spooky teaser, we’re even more curious what Flowers of Evil director Hiroshi Nagahama will do with the chance to bring this haunting story to our screens.
