Injured Kyoto Animation staff no longer in life-threatening condition
The survivors of the devastating attack on Kyoto Animation’s Studio 1 building are no longer in a life-threatening condition, it has been reported.
According to the Kyodo News service, a source close to the ongoing investigation said that all the 34 surviving victims are on the road to recovery.
The source added that some victims with severe burns remain in intensive care, but their injuries are no longer classed as life-threatening.
The attack took place on July 15 and claimed the lives of 35 people and injured a further 34 of the 70 total staff inside the building at the time.
Kyodo also reported that, to date, 2.5 billion yen ($23m) has been donated to Kyoto Animation. You can make a donation yourself here.
