In this guest post, Kess from Tech Animate explores three anime that come guaranteed to give your emotions a work out.
Do you want to go on an emotional roller coaster? Are you ready to cry your eyes out? Do you want endings that will leave you feeling lost for a couple of days?
Well you’ve come to the right place. in this post, I’ll be going over three emotional anime that will strike you straight in the feels.
(In NO order)
1. Code geass
I’m not just putting this here because Code Geass is my favorite anime of all time. But personally because it hit me the hardest.
You follow Lelouch, a high school student that has the ability to make people do whatever he wants.
And his goals are simple:
Kill his father, the emperor of the strongest and most violent empire of all time. The emperor abandoned Lelouch and his crippled little sister Nunnaly after the assassination of his mother.
And you thought you had daddy issues.
I remember when a character died. I stopped watching the series for a couple of weeks because I couldn’t take it.
Yes, it’s that good.
2. Akame Ga Kill
You know how you go through that little post anime depression after you finish a good show? You get that little empty feeling inside.
Well this has to be the anime which made me feeling empty the most.
Going into this, I had no idea what it was about. I simply decided to click on a random anime and watch it.
At the beginning, it feels like like a really up-beat and light hearted show. It’s so delightful.
The show takes a major turn onto the dark side.
The main character, Tatsumi needs to earn money to send back home to his little village. So he decides to go into the capital to do so.
Long story shot, Tatsumi finds out that the capital is not what he expected.
He ends up in an organization of assassins killing people.
3. Full Metal Alchemist
Full Metal Alchemist isn’t your average show. It touches on various topics like racism, betrayal and the value of life, just to name a few.
This show gets real deep on you, especially if you love philosophy.
Alchemy is the law of equivalent exchange and you follow two alchemists, Edward and Alphonse.
Straight from episode 1, you’re thrown into an emotional mess and only escalates from there. Be aware of who you trust and what you consider to be equal to a human life.
So those were my top 3 emotional anime of all time.
